I want to talk about 3 lessons you can use from rock climbing and apply to your business success. Many people stop themselves, even before they start because of the fear of failure. In learning to climb, you have a rope that will catch you if you fall. When my son learned that if he falls, nothing will happen, besides a fun swing, he was able to try again and go a little higher.
If that is where you are, feeling afraid, you can just ask yourself, what is the worse that could happen? You might also look at how you can apply these 3 lessons in being courageous that I learnt from rock climbing.
LESSON 1: DON’T GIVE UP
In rock climbing, from my experience, is a process very similar to running your business. You first need to learn the “ropes” literally, you learn how to tie a “8 figure knot” so if you fall your partner can catch you, then you start on an easy route and as you practice and your muscles get stronger, you start going for more difficult routes.
As you practice, you learn that there are a few steps to take to get the results you need. Same in business. You first build your skill, then you start sharing your experiences with that skill, maybe in a newsletter, a blog or a video, you start promoting your business, and as you develop your muscles and consistency, you start seeing results in your business.
Its important to not give up, and to know that every action you take, even if you do not get you results right away, is building your muscles, preparing you for your next reach or business goal.
For most people you need to keep up and not give up! YOU WILL see results in your business.
LESSON 2: BE PRESENT
Climbing is the best tool for being in the present. If you do not pay attention where your feet are, control your muscles, be focused on your next move, then bam, you are off the rock and have to start all over again.
Same thing in your business, it’s very important to be 100% present on the activity in front of you. Like right now I am writing this blog, I am 100% here. I shut down all notifications from email fb etc.. I am 100% here.
It does not matter what happened in the past. If you fall, if you try to promote your services in the past and did not get the results you want. Its very important to be present to NOW. And do the actions needed to promote it this time around with your head in the present and you will see different results.
And because you did not give up, you will notice that even some people that came to you from a promotion you ran in the past, will be ready now to work with you. So let go of past results of your efforts, be consistent and expect different results when you focus on being present.
LESSON 3: FACE THE FEAR
Let me give you a common scenario from rock climbing. If you are hanging on the rock, each foot in a hold, each hand in a hold. The longer you stay in this position, the harder it will be to reach for the next hold / step. Because you will be hanging with your hands and feet, your muscles will get tired.
So use that fear, instead of letting it defeat you until you can not hold on anymore and you are forced to let go, use that fear to pump you to look for a new place for your hands and feet so you can keep climbing.
Taking this lesson to your business, just ask yourself, what is a small action I can take so that your fear will not paralyze you.
Being Courageous with the Akashic Records
This week, a student that just started in the Akashic Records certification program reached out to me because she was afraid of starting the practice of reading her classmates records. SO we talked about it and there is no other way to become an awesome Akashic Records consultant besides start giving sessions. Most people when they start to practice they are very hard on themselves, and doubt the amazing info they are getting.
The only way to feel comfortable and confident about giving Akashic Records sessions is by doing them. That is why in my programs this trust is developed weekly as the students do a lot of practice sessions, and we get together weekly and me in partnership with my healing guides help the students to gradually let go of the fear, and as they do their practice, their sessions keep getting better and better. I am so happy we talked, she just related to me that she was able to give her first session, and her classmate confirmed everything that came to her.
Where is an area of your life or business that you have been afraid to step in? Would you be willing to try it?
I’d love to learn how you will apply these 3 lessons in being courageous to your business and what happens when you do them!
