(No Struggle, Fight, Or “Giving In” Required!)
Sometimes the moment that your Soul is ready to step up, play a bigger game, or take the next big leap is the moment when the Universe steps up with a surprise of its own.
In other words, just when you think you’re ready to go to the next level in anything–business, life, or whatever–you might hit an unexpected bump in the road.
And those bumps in the road often show up as fights, disagreements, or conflicts with another person.
Maybe it’s an unpleasant situation with a friend, a co-worker, or a family member. It could even be a random fight with a stranger.
And it can leave you in a place where you’re still fighting the fight in your mind, long after the confrontation is over.
Sure, fights and conflicts with others might look like setbacks or roadblocks. But what if they were actually blessings in disguise?
I call moments like this “energy expanders.” And while they might seem like battles, they’re usually opportunities.
So today we’re going to talk about why “roadblocks” like these might be just what you need to go further down your path!
Let me tell you what inspired this conversation…
A few days ago, I was getting ready to share a live stream with my Facebook community. I didn’t have a topic in mind, so I set the intention to receive guidance on what the group might need the most.
I drew a card from my Sacred Crystal Codes oracle deck, it happened to be that the “Blueprint” card.
The message in this card is an invitation to return to your blueprint–that is, the most basic program that you had when you came into this world.
Your blueprint represents the most essential version of your Soul. And this card is a nudge from the Universe to return to the simplest, most basic version of you.
It invites you also to let go of anything that isn’t really you. That means things you’ve picked up in this lifetime, like experiences, memories, and programming.
But when you return to your blueprint, you reclaim your most natural divinity. You remember that you are a Soul being having a spiritual experience. And you give yourself permission to live life, have experiences, and make mistakes.
Still, when the ego-mind is in charge, it has an agenda. It has to be “right,” no matter what. And when it feels wronged, it fights to prove itself right, no matter what.
Even if the “wrong” is something as small as finding a table at a crowded zoo!
Let me share a little moment that I had that brought this all into perspective for me…
It was the Friday after Thanksgiving, and my family and I ventured out to the zoo. And trust me, that day the zoo really was a “zoo.” The crowd was massive, and there was little room to move.
You can imagine how challenging it was to find a table in the cafeteria!
I was with my kids and my mother-in-law, all of whom were tired and hungry. But there was not a single free table to be found. You can guess how unhappy that made our party!
Just then, it looked like a table was about to open. I stepped forward to claim the prize when three people swopped in from out of nowhere and took it for themselves.
They looked back at me, discussing whether or not they should stay.
Sure, by then, I wanted to march right over to them, tell them to leave, and take that space back for my family (as my frustration was at a high point just then…)
But instead, I told them to keep the table despite my gut-growling irritation). Then I took a deep breath, and silently reminded myself, “The Universe has got my back.”
Then a few moments later, a gentleman who’d seen the whole situation kindly told me that he was about to leave, and his table was ours.
So after all of the crowd surfing, tired kids, and angry-hungry family members, we finally sat down to relax and have our lunch.
Now, there are more challenging situations in life than finding a lunch table at a crowded zoo, right? I know I’ve been through worse things in my life, and I bet you have, too.
But here’s the thing–it really isn’t about the situation at all. It’s about the energy that arises in you when you’re in the situation.
It’s about the feelings that show up when you feel like the world is aligning against you, and you’ve got to fight for your space. And when everyone around you is just as convinced that they are right, and they’re fighting just as hard to win the fight.
So even though my situation in the moment was not that dire, I allowed myself to feel frustrated. I let the feelings come to the surface. And once I got over feeling sorry for myself, I let go of the need to be right.
It was then that the “right” solution showed up!
It was a minor situation that reminded me of a major truth in life: with any kind of disagreement, it’s not easy to let someone else have the last word.
Think of it–when there’s a disagreement, what usually happens? Both parties want to be right. They want to be seen, heard, and valued. And both sides want to win.
And until one person wins, the ego-mind keeps generating the thoughts to keep the argument alive.
What happens next? We keep coming up with reasons why the other person is wrong. Then we go off and tell someone else how right we are. Then before you know it, other people who weren’t even involved in the situation are talking about it. And the negative energy goes on and on…
Sooner or later you’ve got a big-time victim party going on!
We all go there at some point, myself included. After all, we’re human, and human beings tend to attach themselves to the outcomes that their egos want.
But what if there’s something more important than being right? What if the situation happened in the first place because our Soul had something it wanted us to know?
Sometimes the more you fight to be right, the more you push away an experience that your Soul called forth for you.
And even if you “win” the fight, you don’t necessarily resolve the energy of the experience.
If you don’t let go of the energy that drew the situation into your life in the first place, your Soul will call in another similar experience later. And it’ll keep bringing in similar vibrations into your life until you learn what you need to learn.
Wouldn’t it be easier to learn the lesson instead of unknowingly repeating it over and over again?
Every single moment in your life holds a choice. You have the choice to give power to the ego mind, saying things like, “they did this to me,” or “they’re not being fair,” or even “It’s my fault, it’s their fault,” or whatever the case may be.
It might feel like you’re going for justice at first. But in reality, it delays the solution. And even more, it gets in the way of an opportunity to let old contracts and energy go.
But what if you decided to see the higher cause behind the chaotic situations in your life? What if you chose to take the higher path in every moment, no matter what your ego said?
One thing that I like to ask myself is this–when a situation comes up that triggers that need to be “right,” I ask myself if I’m willing to take the higher path.
Now, I’m not saying to let other people walk all over you. And I’m also not telling you to deny your feelings. Denial only buries the negative energy in your body, when what you need is to release it.
What I am saying is to allow your feelings to surface. Acknowledge them. Then allow yourself to see the opportunity they present.
Chance are you’ll find a chance to take the higher path and receive the lesson behind the situation. From there, you can truly let the negative energy go once and for all.
Isn’t that better than a momentary victory?
So if someone chooses to wrong you in any way, make a choice of your own. Once you acknowledge your own feelings, choose to see the divinity within them. Even if they aren’t showing it to you at the moment.
Then, I thank that person for showing up. I thank them for the opportunity that they brought to me.
What happens next?
- You stop worrying about being right.
- You also let go of what other people might think of you.
- You release the need to control other people and to control the outcomes.
When you let go of the situation, you let the Universe step in. And it always will guide you to the highest possible solution. It turns into an opportunity to trust even more in the Universe, and to remember that it really does have your back.
Remember, you don’t need to dwell on the “fairness” of a situation. Focus on your heart, and do what you know in your heart is the right thing to do.
Because at the end of the day, if you are doing what you know in your heart what is right for you, nobody can tell you that you’re “wrong!”
So allow things to show up. Allow yourself to feel the emotions that come along with those things. And then take the opportunity to let go of control and get back into alignment.
Most of all, let go of the need to make things “right” according to your ego-mind.
Because you never know–when you stop feeling the need to claim the table that you thought should’ve been yours, another table with an even better view might open up for you!
Have you ever been in a situation that hit you in the ego, brought up a bunch of feelings, and made you feel like fighting back, only to discover that the Universe had an even better plan for you?
