Last year, the Akashic Records spoke to me. It was truly special.
With just one message, in one short moment, I no longer felt the inadequacy which kept me away from expanding my business.
They said, “Share your message. Share your heart.”
It was a simple enough message. In hindsight, it was a message I already knew on some level, but needed to hear it in order for it to properly sink in and cause the necessary shift inside.
Share your message.
Share your heart.
Once I consciously applied this message into my business, I felt a lightness and fun return. That lightness and fun was always present in my Portuguese-speaking business, but not in my English-speaking business.
Before, something was holding me back.
We all experience this on some level. You may have your own business and are not getting the results you want. For some, it may be a certain “key performance indicator” — some metric or measurement deemed vital to your enterprise which has eluded you, despite your best, most passionate efforts.
It’s the age of digital marketing, these sorts of metrics and numbers tend to measure things like email opt-ins, webinar attendance, or — in the case of one of my friends — how many people joined her on the app Periscope.
She was like, “Patricia! I tried Periscope and only 24 people showed up. How can I get more people in Periscope?”
I didn’t really know too much about Periscope, other than it was a live streaming app (I personally use and prefer Facebook and Facebook Live and I absolutely love it). What I knew for sure was what that she was going through something very important, and I knew this because I went through the exact thing myself. I could point her in the right direction (and possibly you, too) because of the message I received.
Share your message.
Share your heart.
I am, as some of you know, Brazilian, and English is not my first language. The Akashic Records Institute has been open for three years, but mostly in Portuguese. It had a vibrant Facebook page, with great engagement. Around July of last year, I felt compelled to create an English speaking Akashic Records Institute Facebook page. But, like my friend who tried Periscope, the numbers weren’t very impressive. On my Brazilian page, I’d get 4,000 or more people signed up for a webinar, but on my English page, just a handful.
Naturally, I wanted more engagement, but I didn’t think much of it, until someone close to me said something well-intentioned, but ultimately hurtful: “The reason you are not getting more business is because your English is not good.”
I am strong person, but for reasons I can’t explain, I internalized that message. Right into the heart. It became a limiting belief, which held me back because of two reasons:
1. I was defining success in terms of a number
2. I believed I wasn’t reaching that number because of my “poor” language ability
That powerful message from the Akashic Records thankfully flipped the script.
Looking closely, the message says nothing about the amount of Facebook Page subscribers, or email opt-ins, or cost-per-acquisition, or any other thing found on a spreadsheet. The emphasis was on my message and nothing else.
Quickly, I knew the implication of that emphasis. It meant that as long as I was delivering my message about the Akashic Records, and that it was coming from the heart, then any result was okay. So then it no longer matters if I spoke in perfect English or not. It no longer mattered if everyone who heard me understood everything I said.
If I impacted just 1 person, it meant I was living with purpose. Once I accepted that the only important number was that 1 person, I was thrilled when “only” three people signed up for my English speaking Akashic Records seminar. My Portuguese one had thousands more, but with the new clarity the Akashic Records gave me, they both felt successful, as it only takes 1 person to be the genie in your lamp, and they could be anywhere.
So for my friend who was frustrated with Periscope, she was focusing on the wrong thing.
Numbers don’t matter. Whatever result you are getting in your business, even if it is 24 signups for Periscope, or 1 lonely member in your new Facebook group, take it to heart. Let go of attachment and allow whatever seed is present the proper time to grow.
Finally, it is perfectly fine to draw upon the inspiration of what other people have done before you, to learn from their playbook of marketing systems, how they got the numbers they did, and so on, but unless your energy and your purpose goes into it, you won’t get the same results.
If you are curious what powerful message the Akashic Records has waiting for you, and it feels like the time and place is right, I am happy to support you personally, or you can explore if one of my programs seems best for your needs.
