I just finished recording one of the 21 Energetic Coaching™ Atounement Sessions for the Intuitive Deep Dive Experience. I love doing these sessions as I tap into the collective of those who are part of the program (present and future). Today the healing guides felt the need to work with the energy of Procrastination.
I have a lot of energy and when I receive a intuitive hit of an idea, I usually put it into practice. The guides dealt with a few different areas for all of us during the Energetic Coaching™ Session. Today I want to focus on a specific reason we connected with in the Session that creates procrastination: the fear of success.
Understanding the cause of procrastination can help you to move past it. Every life experience that you have, you have attached feelings to it. When you are going to take action that brings up those old feelings you stop yourself from moving forward to avoid feeling them again. As these feelings keep piling enough it becomes harder and harder to take action.
Whenever you find yourself procrastinating about something, you also tap into feelings of shame and guilt. Most people when they feel anxious about a task to anything necessary to avoid all this feeling! Browse on Facebook and Twitter, and by avoidance, it only get worse; and the clock is ticking and that feeling of shame and guilt only grows and grows.
What is the solution?
First: Let go of the guilt for not being where you think you should be. You are where you are and can start from there.
Second: Notice your feelings and what they are telling you. Come into Presence. I don’t mean join in the pity party or bashing of yourself…but hear your ego voice…let it speak. Success is very scary to your ego self because it doesn’t know who you will be or how it is supposed to behave when you achieve what you desire! Your ego will tell you all sorts of ‘horror’ stories of what could happen when you aren’t who you are now anymore!!
Third: Reassure your ego self that you have this! It really is what you desire and you will only move in baby steps so it can get used to the new you!!
Fourth: Break your task down into tiny steps…let go of the ENTIRE PROJECT…focus on the one step. Then when that is complete…congratulate yourself and tackle the next step and soon enough you will be on a roll and moving forward.
Why is this so important? One my favorite quotes from Les Brown reminds us of why we want to make the effort to hear our ego self, soothe it and take the steps to make our dreams a reality.
“Imagine if you will being on your deathbed – and standing around your bed – the ghosts of the ideas, the dreams, the abilities, the talents given to you by life.
And that you, for whatever reason, you never acted on those ideas, you never pursued that dream, you never used those talents, we never saw your leadership, you never used your voice, you never wrote that book.
And there they are standing around your bed looking at you with large angry eyes saying we came to you, and only you could have given us life! Now we must die with you forever.
The question is – if you die today what ideas, what dreams, what abilities, what talents, what gifts, would die with you? “
